KUANTAN: A Sessions Court judge chided a Felda settler, saying he was not fit to be a father for raping his underaged daughter.
Sessions judge Sarimah Hashim said instead of providing shelter and taking good care of her, the accused had taken advantage by raping her.
“You are not a good father and not fit to be one. Your irresponsible action has cause her much suffering and ruined her future,” she said in her judgment after the accused pleaded guilty Monday.
Sarimah sentenced the accused to 18 years in prison from the date of his arrest on Oct 30 this year but spared him the cane.
The 56-year-old man from Felda Cini, Pekan, was said to have raped his daughter, aged 11, in a house at about 4.30pm in February 2004.
In mitigation, the accused, who was unrepresented, said he still loved his family and had to take care of another child who is suffering from leukaemia.

waaaaaa what happens now?that children is his daughter..what is her fault..why doing this to her..
i'm very sad to know this
This is very sad, this will effect her for the rest of her life. The father only gets 18 years whereby the daughter will carry this with her for life. No justice in the world. But at least he got 18 years in the UK the sentence would have been lighter and probably wouldn't have served the full term either.
ReplyDeleteyeah that's true. The child will be in a trauma maybe for her entire life by her own father. Really disappointed.
